Application materials should be received no later than May 31
to provide adequate time for processing by the American College and the
Catholic University of Leuven (KUL). Only after the process is completed
and the applicant has been admitted by the seminary and university can
he apply for a student visa from the Belgian embassy or consulate. This
entire process takes some time; thus early application is encouraged.
Application Forms
The KUL application form must be submitted via the internet, after
which the applicant must print and copy the completed form (twice) and
send to the Director of Admissions of the American College as part of
the complete application packet, instead of sending it to the KUL’s
International Office, as directed on the KUL website.
Student Visa
Instructions and required forms for obtaining a Belgian student visa
are available at the
website of the Belgian embassy.
It is recommended that the applicant start the process of obtaining
the “nationwide criminal history record” as soon as possible. For U.S.
citizens, this is the FBI Identification Record. Information and
required forms are available at the
website of the FBI.
